New Canvas Interface is
Coming!
Another reminder that the new
Canvas interface is right around the corner - Tuesday,
May 17th -
following grade submission. (Sometime between 3:00 and 5:00 pm.) You can learn
more about the interface by following this link.
Or, you can watch a video that illustrates the new user
experience. Dr. Anna Catterson, Mark Summey, and Joe Kern will be offering
workshops on the new interface in May. Refer to our Blog for specific information and a
timeline.
Quick Poll
Learning Technologies reviews its
service portfolio on a regular basis in order to determine which technologies
should be abandoned and, conversely, which technologies should be adopted.
We’re looking carefully at the use of Learning Objects CampusPack.
(Learning Objects is the company and CampusPack is the product.) This is a
blog, wiki, journal, and podcast application that was adopted a few years ago
when ESU used Blackboard. Since Blackboard didn’t have those features at the time,
CampusPack was licensed. However, the technology landscape has changed
considerably. Many of those features are now included in Canvas or available in
other platforms, such as Google Docs. In order to determine its usage on campus
we would like to ask you to complete this VERY short survey (4 questions).

7 Things You Should Know
about Promethean Boards
This month we look at Promethean
Boards: 7
Things You Should Know About Promethean Boards. The campus is installing several new Promethean
ActivPanels which double as LCD displays + interactive surfaces. Moreover,
certain short throw projectors can be used as interactive surfaces. We can show
you examples of all these technologies.
Lesser Known Canvas Tips and
Tricks: Printing Content
If you need to print course
content (Quizzes, Assignments, Pages etc.) the easiest method is to use the new
ePub Export option. However, this must be enabled at the course level as a
Feature Option until Instructure decides to include it in the base production
code. Once exported in ePub, the user can open the course content in any common
ePub reader and print. Follow these steps: https://guides.instructure.com/m/4152/l/476787-how-do-i-view-course-content-offline-as-an-epub-file
